In a few words, I miss gay Craigslist. And while I wish I could be writing this to let you know all its back…its not. Yes, we have moved into a society more accepting of sexual activity. Still, I miss what gay Craigslist gave us. A space that allowed men to explore some of their fantasies while still having complete anonymity.
Unfortunately, just how we have seen it when it comes to sites like Tumblr, things change. Sites similar to gay Craigslist, like DoubleList, have tried to take its place. I have posted at DoubleList and they don't have the same engagement that gay Craigslist used to have. Also, posts are easily monitored and reported.
Recalling Gay Craigslist
I think of all the men, whether curious, in the closet or married, able to post or answer an ad without any trace of their activity. Sure this led to sketchy activity and terrible horrifying encounters which led to the site being taken down but it was fun while it lasted. Maybe the Muscle Station Forums have a place to replace the Craigslist gay ads? Haha who knows.
While recalling the different kinds of secrets all these sexually repressed men had, I found a Twitter page that features gay secrets. Of the gay Craigslist kind.
Whisper App
There is also an app you may have heard of called Whisper. And while it has similar content, it was great to find a Twitter page with a list of anonymously collected secrets. My sincere congrats to the owner of @GaySexSecrets for holding all submitted secrets as there are some juicy ones. The range is from the vanilla, to public sex, to confessions of cheating, to taboos and more!
